The work draws from the distinctly Finnish tradition of karkkipäivä - Friday or Saturday sweets - and the ritual of choosing a bag of pick-and-mix candy. Something colourful and ordinary, but also something tied to childhood, anticipation and shared memories.
This drawing is part of The Finnish Way, a collection of ten original artworks exploring the objects, traditions and everyday details that hold a particular place in Finnish life and memory. Created for my upcoming exhibition in Finland in January 2027, the collection grew from looking at my home country from a little further away and noticing the things that have stayed with me.
* Ahead of the exhibition, I am releasing just ten fine art prints of this piece as a small pre-exhibition edition. They will be available until 13 September 2026, or until sold out. Further prints will become available following the exhibition in May 2027.
The original artwork will be available exclusively through the gallery as part of The Finnish Way exhibition.
Every artwork is printed to order in collaboration with a trusted fine art printer to ensure exceptional quality. Please allow 1–2 weeks for production before your artwork is dispatched.
Complimentary tracked shipping is available to selected countries. Delivery typically takes 1–2 weeks, depending on your location. Once your artwork has been dispatched, you'll receive a tracking number so you can follow its journey.

As each print is made to order, returns are not accepted. However, if your artwork arrives damaged, please get in touch within 14 days of delivery so I can make it right.
Each print is individually signed, numbered, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
This artwork is released as a Pre-Exhibition Limited Edition of 10 prints. Once these 10 prints have sold out, no further prints will be available as part of this edition. A wider print release will follow in May 2027.
Occasionally, a smaller version of an artwork may be featured in my monthly Studio Mail subscription, but the original limited edition will always remain exclusive.
