Some recipes become part of a family. They are prepared so often that no one reaches for a cookbook anymore. They are measured by instinct, remembered by taste, and passed from one generation to the next.
This commissioned drawing is based on a bowl of Pasta all'Amatriciana, prepared from my client's grandmother's recipe.
Food has a remarkable ability to preserve stories. A familiar recipe can bring us back to a particular table, a particular conversation, or someone we love. Through this drawing, a simple plate of pasta becomes more than a meal: it becomes a family heirloom, preserving a tradition that continues to be shared across generations.
